Big changes are coming—and not for the better.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons just announced that starting April 21, 2025, they’re cutting halfway house and home confinement time down to just 60 days for most people returning home under the Second Chance Act.
This means many who worked hard to rehabilitate, kept a clean record, and built strong reentry plans won’t get the time they’ve earned to transition safely back into the community.

At Free Da Gang LLC, we believe this move is not only wrong—it goes against the very law that was created to help reduce recidivism and support families.
Let’s be clear:
BOP is legally required to review 5 individual factors before deciding how much prerelease time a person gets.
A one-size-fits-all 60-day cap violates the spirit of the Second Chance Act.
Families deserve more than rushed reentry—they deserve fair chances and safe transitions.
We will continue to advocate, educate, and amplify voices of the incarcerated and their families.
If your loved one is eligible for halfway house or home confinement, now is the time to push your case forward. Don’t wait.
